LUCHADOR HERO is a solo TTRPG where you put on the mask of a super-powered luchador vigilante. Solving mysteries that no other detective can crack. Fighting criminals, monsters, mutants and evil geniuses to keep your city safe.

This game is a love letter to the Santo and Blue Demon movies, as well as serials like Batman 66, The Venture Bros., Scooby-Doo, Hellboy & the B.P.R.D. comics, The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, etc.

LUCHADOR HERO is psychotronic, psychedelic, action-packed, cheesy, tongue-in-cheek, but most of all fun!

Played a game tonight, acting as a GM for my friend as he played out an episode. Took about 3 hours, but it was a great time and even brought back memories of our childhood.

This is the what happened during the episode:

  • Heard about a little girl who fell into a sinkhole and ended up at the hospital 3 days later so I went to ask her some questions.
  • Fought FLEABAG CHUPACABRA and then saw a perp leaving the scene!
  • Followed the perp to a casino, but it turned out that the FLEABAG CHUPACABRA did not take enough of an ass whooping.
  • The fight was witnessed by an admirer who offered their help in the case.
  • Entered the casino but was immediately stopped by the Muscle Bound Maniac and Pinata Head.
  • Defeated the terrible duo and proceeded to investigate the crime scene, but it turned out to be a red herring and the perp got away.
  • A tip about a bank robbery led me to break down a barricade and confront the Mutant Cretinoid Juvenile Delinquent, thwarting Pinata Head's robbery and saving an innocent bystander. Found a clue at the bank which lead to a seedy bar in a bad part of town.
  • Upon entering the bar, I was forced into a handicap match. I landed a jab on the Cannibal Imp and followed up with a powerful right hook to the Muscle Bound Maniac, but it was the sight of my old foe, FLEABAG CHUPACABRA, that fueled my determination for victory.
  • After my triumph, some minions reconsidered challenging me and instead provided a clue leading to the Super Beast's hideout
  • Utilizing the under handed tactic of the super special purple nurple move, the Cyber Golem was no sport for THE THUNDERCAT!
  • In a post-credit twist, I returned to the hospital with churros for the little girl, only to find a note on her pillow taunting me, "You thought you've won, you Thundercat fool! But for all your brawn, your brains are no match for the FLEABAG CHUPACABRA!"
  • You pump your fist in the air and vow vengeance against your mortal foe and to bring justice down upon him.

10/10 GREAT GAME!

Thank you for that incredible battle rep! It's always so fun to read those. I'm glad you and your friend liked the game. I am currently compiling stuff for an upcoming expansion (among dozens of other projects!).

Yeah FLEABAG CHUPACABRA kept coming back for more... created a hilarious rivalry.

Awesome! That sounds great, can't wait!

I have a question regarding the full-night rest action. As per the rules, you can take a full rest at the HQ but  "Taking a night's rest immediately ends the episode. In other words, you're fully healed but the investigation is over and you lose!"

So how would this action be useful if it ends the episode?

It's simply there to state that your characters fully heal between episodes and also that a luchador can leave the episode if they're on the verge of being KO'ed.

We were enjoying Luchador Hero so much, we also purchased a physical copy of Crime-fighting Luchadores!  We're hoping to port some ideas back and forth between the two.

Awww, thanks! That's great to hear.

Is this game available as a physical copy?

Yes! Ratti Incantati and Exalted Funeral will start selling them soon. I can also send you a copy if you pay the shipping fees.

Thank you for your support!

Copy purchased. Many thanks!

Thank you! Hope you like it. Don't hesitate to share your feedback!

We're enjoying the game immensely and would like to get a couple of clarifications.

Does fleeing a combat count as a "failure"?

Does fleeing a combat mean you also miss the opportunity to undertake the location's task?

Hi Star Knight! First of all, thank you for your kind words! I'm very happy that you're having fun with the game! To answer your questions, fleeing a combat is not a failure and doesn't prevent you from proceeding with the investigation. To sum it up, only a failed attempt at collecting clues puts an end to scene. Mechanically, this is to prevent players to simply roll until they succeed. Thematically, it represents the fact that the heroes are losing ground in their pursuit of the Superbeast, thus forfeiting their chance of stopping them.
