Wuthering Zines has reviewed my game ESCAPE THE ZONE:

RPG Zine. @psychoheadcheese offers us an opportunity for a solo adventure in "Escape the Zone," a contaminated area from an ancient extraterrestrial visitation. This highly dangerous zone is also coveted by various interest groups seeking to acquire the artifacts that can be found there. Soldiers guard the area to prevent anyone from passing through. The player takes on the role of a person already in the zone but has completely forgotten who they are and where they come from. The game mechanics are fairly simple, just like character creation. Two six-sided dice are sufficient to embark on the adventure. I love the possibility the game offers of staying longer (at our own risk, of course!) in one of these visited sites. The game system also allows players to level up as the game progresses, which seems rare in a solo TTRPG. The creator even provides a way to replay after the first adventure. To start, I chose to play as a soldier named Ellen (a tribute to Ripley). In my opinion, the fighter class is always the cautious choice! In my pocket, I had only one card and three rounds of ammunition to venture into the unknown. My character survived an anomaly and a few battles. Thank goodness for luck points! I found some cool items. Unfortunately, I met my demise in the final scene, discovering nameless horrors that my brain couldn't handle. An ending I love that reminds me of Call of Cthulhu. The game is well put together, and the texts are stimulating to read. There are plenty of options and mysteries yet to be discovered in the game. I need to play again! On the visual side, the negative photographs help immerse us in the atmosphere. The choice of highly stylized typography in capital letters contributes to creating a sense of danger. The zine printed on glossy paper is pleasant to hold. A zine to keep close by to stave off boredom
